2020/03/11/1. No. Rector's Directive regarding the coronavirus epidemic in a declared emergency case on the measures taken at the GFC

As regards the emergency declared by the Government, in accordance with the Action Plan of the Deputy State Secretariat for Higher Education of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology dated March 11, 2020, I order the following at Gál Ferenc College.
The purpose of the instructions is to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus, taking into consideration the interests of the entire College community, students, teachers, staff, their families, and their environment.
1 I will order a rector's education break on March 12 and March 13, 2020.

2020/03/10/1. No. Rector's Instruction regarding the coronavirus epidemic on the measures taken at GFC

The Rector's Instruction, which will enter into force on March 10, 2020, will be based on a new appeal issued to the heads of institutions by the Deputy State Secretariat for Higher Education of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology on 09.03.209.

This Rector's Guide applies to all GFC students, faculty, staff, and even guests, visitors, visitors, and all facilities, including colleges, libraries, tango farms, and is consistent with the Rector's regulations issued so far in this subject, in unified structure with them.

Presentation of associate professor István Thékes at TEDx in Békéscsaba

Dr. István Thékes is an associate professor at Gál Ferenc College in Szeged, a language teacher, an educational researcher on the educational role of info-communication, the secretary of foreign affairs of the institution, a developer and carrier of a rich international relations system. He has been a lecturer at international conferences, from the major Hungarian universities to Cambridge, New York. He is a sportsman, tennis player who competed in the US University Championships, coach of the Saint Gellért Forum in Szeged, and father of four children.

Coronavirus and Flu Preventive Measures

Gál Ferenc College neither has, nor has  recently had  Chinese students or staff, so at the moment there is no need to take extra measures suggested by health authorities as well as WHO. Nevertheless, it is necessary to take preventive measures against  coronavirus and other infections at all faculties, locations and institutions of GFC.

•    Wash your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water

SoCaTel hackathon competition was held at Gál Ferenc College, the Hungarian consortium partner of the H2020 SoCaTel project

To participate in the hackathon, Gál Ferenc College was looking for people interested in developing software for the elderly care industry. The aim of the hackathon within the competition was to bring the best ideas for develop elderly care to the level of implementation.

At the end of the two-day event, the jury decided to classify the following teams in ranking:

1st place: HARDWAX

2nd place: GK-YAMINA

Rank 3: SZÁMALKOSOK

The runner-up team, GK-YAMINA, came from the Faculty of Economics of Gál Ferenc College of in Békéscsaba.

Information Days about Our Educational Offer on 7th December in Three Locations

Gál Ferenc College received an invitation to take part in the Career Day of the Szegedi Kis István Reformed Grammar School organised on 7th December 2019.  Palatinus Pál principal greeted the representatives of the GFC: Árpád Boros from the Faculty of Economics, Kristóf Czinderi from the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and Katalin Kovács Director of Education; based on research results, in his opening speech he highlighted the importance of higher and further education, as well as its complience with the demands posed by the entrepreneurial and employer community.

Lighting the Advent Candle in the Faculty of Economics
Vicar Antal Szigeti lit the first candle on the advent wreath as part of a festive faculty event in Békéscsaba, in the company of students, teachers and staff.  the send candle is to be lit on 9th December within the Christmas Festivity of the Faculty, at 11.30.
The advent wreath of out faculty was made by one of our students, Vivien Pankotai.
