SoCaTel hackathon competition was held at Gál Ferenc College, the Hungarian consortium partner of the H2020 SoCaTel project

To participate in the hackathon, Gál Ferenc College was looking for people interested in developing software for the elderly care industry. The aim of the hackathon within the competition was to bring the best ideas for develop elderly care to the level of implementation.

At the end of the two-day event, the jury decided to classify the following teams in ranking:

1st place: HARDWAX

2nd place: GK-YAMINA

Rank 3: SZÁMALKOSOK

The runner-up team, GK-YAMINA, came from the Faculty of Economics of Gál Ferenc College of in Békéscsaba.

Information Days about Our Educational Offer on 7th December in Three Locations

Gál Ferenc College received an invitation to take part in the Career Day of the Szegedi Kis István Reformed Grammar School organised on 7th December 2019.  Palatinus Pál principal greeted the representatives of the GFC: Árpád Boros from the Faculty of Economics, Kristóf Czinderi from the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and Katalin Kovács Director of Education; based on research results, in his opening speech he highlighted the importance of higher and further education, as well as its complience with the demands posed by the entrepreneurial and employer community.

Lighting the Advent Candle in the Faculty of Economics
Vicar Antal Szigeti lit the first candle on the advent wreath as part of a festive faculty event in Békéscsaba, in the company of students, teachers and staff.  the send candle is to be lit on 9th December within the Christmas Festivity of the Faculty, at 11.30.
The advent wreath of out faculty was made by one of our students, Vivien Pankotai.

Bishop László Kiss-Rigó was awarded the Duna Prize this year

László Kiss-Rigó the bishop of Szeged-Csanád Diocese was awarded the Duna Prize this year. The prize was founded by the Duna Television, and was awarded for the eighth time. The recognition was presented by Zsolt Semjén Deputy Prime Minister for National Policy, Church Affairs and Nationalities, and Menyhért Dobos, CEO of Duna Media Service Nonprofit Ltd. on 12 December in Budapest.

At the ceremony, Zsolt Semjén said that the award was given to those who had done much for the survival of the nation and for the unity of the Hungarians.
